‘Hot Lunch Napkins’ is a show that has been curated by Hot Lunch for ‘A Dinner for Scott’. @a_dinner_for_scott

‘A Dinner for Scott’ is a fundraising dinner held in Wahōpai with the goal to educate, encourage, and develop aspiring hospitality people in Murihiku. The dinner brings top chefs from across Aotearoa and Australia to lead a course with a team of high school and polytechnic students.

The money raised at the the dinner goes to the winner of the Scott Richardson Memorial Scholarship for overseas experiences in hospitality and food.

This year to complement the dinner we have have asked friends of Hot Lunch to produce a work on a napkin, made from a napkin, or make a napkin. These will go live on the Hot Lunch website on the night of the 10th of August for purchase to help support the fundraising efforts.

The reference for the napkin show comes from when Scott was in Melbourne for the food and wine festival in the early 2000s. Scott was sitting close to Anthony Bourdain at the longest lunch event. Scott took his paper napkin up to Anthony Bourdain and got him to sign his napkin. The chefs skull and knife is what he drew on the napkin and this is this is what has been reproduced on the poster.
